ECS / Kindergarten
Thornhill Child Care Society operates two Alberta Education funded and approved private E.C.S./kindergarten programs. Our kindergarten programs are located at our Centre Street North Centre and our Haysboro location. Children are eligible to attend Kindergarten if they turn 5 years old on or before December 31st of the current school year. As a private ECS operator we also provide access to mild/moderate and program unit funding (PUF) for children who have been assessed as having developmental delays or disabilities.
Our kindergarten programs offer many benefits to children including:
- Maximum class size of 20.
- Qualified Teacher and Teaching Assistant.
- On-going evaluation, report cards and parent teacher interviews.
- Access to early intervention professionals including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists and physical therapists, and psychologists.
- Parent-run board of directors, with parental involvement encouraged.
- Educational centres targeted towards specific skill development.
- On-site child care available for before and after kindergarten and on non-school days provided by trained early childhood educators.
- Educational enhancing experiences such as field trips, in-class guests and special activities.
- Strong literacy and mathematics focus.

Program registration is on-going, with classes starting in September of each year.
