Our Child Care program accommodates children between the ages of 19 months and 6 years of age. The Centre has a capacity for eighty-five children.
We offer in house nutritious lunches as well as a morning and afternoon snacks. Our meals are planned in accordance with the Canada Food Guide so your child gets 2/3 of their daily nutritional needs to be their best throughout the day.
The North Centre operates an Alberta Education funded and approved ECS/Kindergarten program within the centre. Children are eligible to attend ECS if they turn 5 years old on or before February 28 of that school year.
In October 2005, our centre received accreditation status from the Alberta Association for the Accreditationof Early Learning and Care Services. Accreditation is a voluntary program which aims to improve quality of care. It involves a number of rigorous steps which include a self-study which can take up to 12 months, a site visit and on going monitoring. Our programs are designed to help children grow physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally through spontaneous involvement with their environment. Children have access to a weekly music program.
Families are encouraged and welcomed to participate and visit our program at any time of the day. We believe that parent involvement in your child’s child care program will bring about benefits for the child, parents and family.
